Let the Epic Projects Begin - I Finally Got a 3D Printer
I admittedly allowed myself to be influenced and purchased a 3D printer during the Black Friday sales this past weekend. I will say, I am absolutely ecstatic at the possibilities that are now unlocked by (soon) having a 3D printer. I love Star Wars, and Star Wars is all about the greeblies. Now, I can model my own in Fusion 360 and print them almost on demand.
I plan on not making 3D printing a crutch. By that, I mean I don’t want to 3D print something when a reasonably viable solution is available with other, more obtainable means. That being said, $300 for a 3D printer that, according to the description on Bambu, doesn’t require much manual calibration is fairly reasonably attainable. Even if not on sale, the Bambu A1 seems to be the best compromise between performance and price, at least to me. I would love to have the X1 Carbon, but I could not justify the price tag now. I believe the A1 is a good entry point for 3D printing, which has many advantages of automation but at a reasonable price point. Time will tell if my belief is grounded in reality, and I will convey my honest thoughts as I start to use the Bambu A1 once it is delivered.
